The Physics of the Quest

I have realised that recently that I need a change … a big change. I need to change what I am doing and my outlook on the world. They key is how …. All I know is that I want to get a little more of me back …

I know it is going to sound really stupid and soo Gen X … but I have found some real inspiration in the film (and in the process of reading book) “Eat Pray Love”. I am not saying that I am about to go on a 12 month journey to Italy, India and Bali (as tempting as the idea sounds) … but I am going to try and learn and take some inspiration from the central philosophy of the film that is summed up in the below. And see where that takes me

In the end, I’ve come to believe in something I call “The Physics of the Quest.” A force in nature governed by laws as real as the laws of gravity. The rule of Quest Physics goes something like this: If you’re brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting, which can be anything from your house to bitter, old resentments, and set out on a truth-seeking journey, either externally or internally, and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher and if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself, then the truth will not be withheld from you.

What do you think? I am just stupid trying to find some kind of deep inspiration for life from a Julia Roberts film or is there something to this? Or does it really matter what inspires us … or does the simple fact that it is a source of inspiration that makes it wonderful.
